Need help on XPInstall in firefox106

Notapor MichaelSmith » 07 May 2018 07:11

In our application, a plug-in needs to be downloaded from server and has to be installed automatically in client machine. So we are using XPI extension to download and Install. To trigger the install, a javascript command InstallTrigger.install(xpi, callBackMethod) has been used. We have created both install.js and install.rdf files and other directories according to specification. But we got an error stating error code as -210.
when I tried to write a test program to install the simple xpi, HelloWorld.xpi which is downloaded from Net, I am experiencing the same issue. The directory structure of xpi file and test.jsp is given below
the context_root is defined as 'test'
In test.jsp, the following javascript is written
function xpinstallCallback(url, status)
alert("status :"+status+" URL is :"+url);
xpi={'Hello World':'/test/objects/helloworld.xpi'};
I am not sure where the problem is? while I am trying to install the helloworld.xpi manually by dragging file to browser or opening through File-open option, it works fine and getting installed. But while trying through javascript install trigger it is not working. It seems there is no doubt in xpi file. but some issue in installing extension through trigger script.
Please let me know if any of you can help me out to solve the issue .

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
